Dears,
I'm trying to create a policy for local users to restrict the access to unwanted sites(###### sites), I created a User Control Policy and i tried to set the Heuristic web filter tolerance rule even to High, but it wasn't effective, then i tried to use the Keyword Control and i set words like (****, ****..) it works, but it would block any page that contain these words, even if it was just an article on a news site. would you please help me to find the best way to control these issue. Thanking You R K J |

Hello RKJ_1001,
If you wish to block access to certain websites you can add them in a User Control Policy - Web Control - "Block access to these websites" and set them in that list using the Add button. The keyword filtering's actions were correct in this situation because it will block any website containing the words you defined for that rule. |

Hello RKJ_1001,
The two products that you are talking about(stand-alone Internet Security 2009/2010 and BitDefender Business Client) have completely different architectures and they were designed for two different environments. Thus, the Parental Control/User Control module's engines are not the same and a comparison from the usability point of view cannot be made. |

Dear Diana,
then what is the best way to block unwanted sites? it's not since to add the sites manually, or to block all pages that contains these words. isn't there a list Bitdefender provide with all prohibited sites , like white list Applications ? another question please: what the Heuristic web filter tolerance used for ? Thank you. Regards, R K J |

Hello RKJ_1001,
If you have a list of websites that you wish to block you can use that to configure the list of blocked websites. We also have a list of blocked websites that we provide via live update, but this will (clearly) not cover all the sites that you wish to block. The Heuristic Web Filter Tolerance uses an algorithm to give a score for accessed webpages and based on the settings that you provided for this module it will decide to either allow or block a webpage. What I would like to mention is that if you set the Heuristic web filter Tolerance to High then this will make it highly permissive - please set it to Low and test in order to see if it blocks the websites that you wish to not have displayed. |

Hello RKJ_1001,
What happens if you set the web filter tolerance level to Low? Thanks! |

Dears All,
I set Heuristic web filter tolerance to low, and now it is blocking every unwanted website, and i unchecked the Box that says "Show alert " as it was asking the user to add the webpage to the White list and if the user select Yes the website will be added to the white list and no blocking will happen, actually i dont know why it is prompting the user to add a website to the white list or not, while we are trying to prevent the user from accessing these sites. What is happening now, that I have an ISA 2006 server on my LAN, and all clients are connected to it as a Gateway, when I'm using a Laptop that the rule of Heuristic web filter tolerance applied on, INSIDE the LAN it will not block any website, but connecting the same Laptop from anywhere else( where is the gateway not the ISA server, like in home) it will work fine, but if i connected to my LAN from outside through a VPN it will not work again.. my ISA server has Bitdefender Security for File server, i didnt install the ISA version, as i already has a Firewall. so should i install Bitdefender for ISA on the ISA server and Apply these rules ?? so user from local LAN cannt access these sites? Thank You, Regards, R K J |
