I think I know how you feel. I bought the anti virus, which seemed to work ok. I found the Total Defender and it looked like exactly what I needed and figured I would upgrade to the Total Defender. I tried the trial version and at first it appeared to work great, but then things began happening. I e-mailed support several times but got no response. NO PHONE SUPPORT?? Anyway, I have re-formatted 4 times since trying the Total Defense, I am now just using the Anti virus software I bought. The Total defense had lots of bells and whistles, but if it doesn't work right, it's useless. It kept telling me to install the same windows update over and over again in one instance. For e-mail, it doesn't load the e-mail protection until AFTER I get my mail, LOL. Good idea, needs a LOT of work!!

Dear user,
It would be nice of you if you could tell us what BitDefender said while removing your files.
Without user cooperation we are unable to do much of anything when inconveniences like these occur.
If you would offer some tips as to what your were downloading, from where or at least a detection name I would be more than happy to fix(or notify those capable of fixing) it if it is indeed related to our product.
Thank you.

Please excuse me if I'm too tired. Total Defender? That is not a BitDefender product. On the contrary. I know of multiple rogue antivirus programs signed that have the same name as what you mentioned.

Total Defense, Total Security.. same ol same ol.... Now I'm glad they don't reply to e-mails or have phone support. They saved me money because I would have upgraded from Bit Dender Anti Virus to TOTAL SECURITY. Back to using <removed> for me.

@ LazyFunker

Could you post here a screenshot with the program ?

Maybe our VR, Catalin Salgau, is wright, it could be a rogue (aka fake antivirus software).

Please excuse me if I'm a bit harsh on this one, but all you've done until now is complain without providing any details on anything. BitDefender may have certainly has some flaws, but it's not on a killing spree. And it's beyond me how a shut down service removes your files. One of first things that dies on uninstall is the monitoring service. I'm seriously doubting you're here to complain about BitDefender causing problems. You're just here to bash on something.
