On a Linux Mint 14 box, I Installed BitDefender-Antivirus-Scanner-7.6-4.linux-gcc4x.i586.deb.run. Bdgui starts well but when I click on the Scanner button it dies. Output from bdgui is "Segmentation fault". I installed the update as you describe above, ( http://unices.bitdefender.com/2011/11/01/b...ner-for-unices/) and the problem persits unchanged. The command line tool, bdscan, works fine. Grateful for any help. Regards Ulf |

For example, you can use this kit: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main...untu4_amd64.deb . Just install it and try to use again bdgui Regards, Alex |

The package you suggested was for 64-bit, I am running a 32-bit version. However, by downloading and installing this file: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main...buntu4_i386.deb the problem at hand was solved in the sense that the program no longer produces a seg fault when I click the scanner button. However, it seems that there is now another problem instead. When I click the scanner button, I can now select a folder or file for scannning through the file manager interface (Nemo). But it seems that regardless of whatever folder I select in the Nemo interface, the scanner will always default to scanning my home folder, and nothing else. Regards Ulf |

Regards Ulf Hi again, The problem I mention above regarding selection of a folder for scanning appears to be a misunderstanding on my behalf as to how the selection in the Nemo interface works. It is not enough to open a folder, the folder also has to be actively marked in the Nemo interface. Then it gets scanned. So now it works fine. Regards Ulf |
