I like to know if there is an option to use BD to scan file after they are downloaded via download software(like internet download manager).
I know that Bd real time will scan the file but in Download Manager you can select the virus scaner and command line parameters, so in this case there is such option with BD? |

Here is an example of scanning from command prompt:
QUOTE To use bdc.exe: 1. Enter the Command Prompt console. Click Start, then All Programs. Select Accessories and click Command Prompt. 2. Go to BitDefender Scan Server folder. In the Command Prompt Console type the commands: %SystemDrive% cd %ProgramFiles%Common FilesSoftwinBitDefender Scan Server where * %SystemDrive% represents the drive on which is installed the operating system. * %ProgramFiles% represents the default path to the Program Files folder. To obtain the local values for %SystemDrive% and %ProgramFiles% type the command: set 3. Run bdc.exe. To disinfect the infected files type the command: bdc /files /boot /arc /mail /log=bdcscan.log /fixed /dis To quarantine the infected files type the command: bdc /files /boot /arc /mail /log=bdcscan.log /fixed /move /moves To delete the infected files type the command: bdc /files /boot /arc /mail /log=bdcscan.log /fixed /del A scan on all drives might take up to several hours. The command prompt antivirus scanner doesn't inform on the length of the scan process. At the end of the scan process, bdc.exe displays a summary and returns the command prompt. Open the file bdscan.log to see the analysis report. To obtain a list of all the viruses detected by BitDefender type the command: bdc /vlist > vlist.txt The full list of options available can be obtained with the command: bdc /help [via Knowledge Base ] |

There is an option to scan p2p traffic. But that is already enabled by default. All your files are scanned with virusshield. You can also enable the option scan http traffic open BD go to antivirus,shield,adjusted level and check the option then all your internet traffic is checked.

I think sometimes i do no post as clear as i should. I have asked what *.exe file from BD folder i have to put in my Internet Download Manager/option/Downloads/virus scanner program and aslo what parameters are available.
If there is not available this option then it should be a nice feature. @Niels: I know that option for p2p and http scaner, i was referring only to download accelerators and this option"virus scanner program" where you can select the exe files from you Av and scan downloaded files. If you read post #1 you will see that all files are scaned be real time "I know that Bd real time will scan the file" . khufu |

I like to know if there is an option to use BD to scan file after they are downloaded via download software(like internet download manager). I know that Bd real time will scan the file but in Download Manager you can select the virus scaner and command line parameters, so in this case there is such option with BD? You can try to add in your Download Manager bdlite.exe, which is the file used for On Demand scanning. C:\Program Files\Softwin\BitDefender10\bdlite.exe %1 C:\Program Files <=> replace this with your %SystemPartition%\%ProgramFiles% path \Softwin\BitDefender10\bdlite.exe <=> this part should be like this, unles you changed the default folder name when you installed BitDefender %1 <=> this parameter should be changed by your Download Manager with the path of the new downloaded file. I don't know if this works. In theory, it should work. Anyway, if it does not work, you can make a default download folder and add in your Download Manager the line: C:\Program Files\Softwin\BitDefender10\bdlite.exe <default download folder path> This way, after you download a file, all files in the Download Folder will be scanned again. Tell us if it worked. Cris. |

Hi Cris,
i have tried that before, but only with this command: C:\Program Files\Softwin\BitDefender10\bdlite.exe and i had received a pop up from BD that said that "you have no scan target selected". If i add "%1" or other parameter like"download folder" nothing happens. This is not a big deal, because i`m protected by real time, but it will be i nice option in future. |

Hi:::
I want to integrate Bitdefender with MSN Messenger... I am using bdlite.exe for this purpose. but when using bdlite, the file i received through mesenger is not scanned, what it is done is a system scan. So, how can i tell bdlite to scan a single file from the command line? Best Regards, Nestor Waldyd PD: bdlite %1 doesn't work. PD2: Attached it is the scan report generated by bdlite when called from messenger.

The files are being scanned any way regardless of the downloading source. If you download a file from an website or the msn it's pretty much the same thing.
About the MSN, we have a pretty nice new feature, in the upcoming version, that is called IM Encryption. You can try the Beta for BitDefender 2009 here: http://beta.bitdefender.com |
