Hi,

I've recently installed BDIS2012(Built:15.0.35.1486), on Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.
VLC media player and Foobar2000 media player cannot play internet radio streams (even with firewall off).
With BDIS2011 there was not any problem.
Any Idea?

Thank you

Hi (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thank you for the files.

First of all, please accept our apologies for the situation created. Please follow the steps below to check if the issue persists.

1. Open BitDefender -> Settings -> Update -> here check the box next to "Prompt me before downloading updates". When an update is performed, you will see a box from which I kindly ask you to choose ONLY Signatures Update (do not perform product updates, otherwise the solution below will be canceled).

2. Restart your computer in Safe Mode:

[How to restart in Safe Mode]
- Restart the computer (Windows Start button - Turn Off - Restart);
- Press the "F8" key several times before Microsoft Windows begins to load; you need to press "F8" until you will be displayed a text menu;
- Select "SAFE MODE" in the text menu and press "Enter".
- Wait while Windows loads in Safe Mode; this process ends with a confirmation message; click "OK" to acknowledge.

3. Go to C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2012, find the file called "bdtl.dll" and rename it to "bdtl.dl_".

4. Restart the computer normally and let me know if the issue persists.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

I've renamed bdtl.dll and players play the streams perfectly.
Is there any security problem now?

Hi

After BDIS 2012 update (15.0.36.1530) the issue still remains. Is there any hope to fix it or should I go back to BDIS 2011 again?

Hello,

Any answer???

P.S. I use Foobar2000 all the day (even in my restaurant) so it's very important to me.

Thanks

Hello (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The update was not delivered for this issue in the latest product update.

Until new information, please leave that file renamed.

Thank you for your patience and for the cooperation with BitDefender team.

Take care.

Hi werby3!

If you would like to get foobar2k get running with the always updated "bdtl.dll", please do following:
In foobar2k go to "Preferences" -> "Networking"
Tick off "Enable dynamic track titles"

foobar2k is now connecting to the radio stream server again.

Unfortunately the track listing do not work anymore, which is no solution.

Maybe this information helps BD to solve this problem!

Best regards,
Steffen

Hi Steffen

I knew that and of course, the problem is the track listing and broadcaster's names. Also there is no solution (known to me) for VLC. So, we have to wait for a solution (if so). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
Anyway, thank you very very much for your response!!!

Have a nice day

Hi Cristian,

You said me that everything's OK but when I rename again "bdtl.dll" the issue is still there.
Should I wait for an update to solve this?

Thank you

Hello (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Yes, you need to wait for the update to be released. Until them, please let that file renamed.

When Bitdefender is searching for an update on our servers, it also checks the file versions. Even if we leave the new version on your PC, it will be replaced automatically with the version from our servers and after a restart, you will still encounter the same issue.

Thank you for understanding.
