Hi Guys
Is anyone having problems with CD/ DVD burning software like Nero and Nti maker when it loads and gets to the point of the Burning software checking for devices on the program start-up?? I have noticed Nero 7 Ultra having problems getting passed the detecting devices on start Never had the problem with Nero 7 before BD 2009, Now I have upgraded to Nero 8 and have the same problem, but sometimes even freezing. I then uninstalled Nero and have tried different different software like Burning Rom 7 (ashampoo) and this has the same problem on start-up to where sometimes it doesn't load. Is there a way to add Nero to the trusted application list?? I can't find this list. The only thing I can think of is for some reason BD 2009 is blocking Nero detecting any CD/DVD drives causing the program problems Thanks in advance |

BD 2009 + Nero 8.x in virtual machine = No problem (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I have found a strange way around my problem. have found what is causing the problem to my Nero 8 software. The application detection of BitDefender 2009 is not detecting properly, Due to not detecting a new application starting, this first of all, slows the load time of the application in question. Then on exiting Nero, the module loaded ( for example nero.exe) does not shut down properly leaving the ".exe" file in the task manager. This means that the module can't be loaded again as the ".exe" file is already loaded. Nero * has many modules to the package like, "nero burning Rom, Nero Cover designer, Nero Smart start, Nero showtime, Nero Recode and Nero Vision". I didn't know what the problem was or is connected to until I was scanning the memory using another antispyware program. Although I had already use Nero Smart Start previously While I was doing the antispyware scan I started Nero Smart Start. All of a sudden BitDefender picked up on a New application and asked to "block" or "allow" I clicked allow. For BitDefender to come back with "An application was added to the trusted application list" while the memory scan was also going on it found a new application "explorer.exe" I did the same as above to place in the 'trusted list'. Except "explorer.exe" is not a new application its part of Windows and before BitDefender 2009 was installed. I then had an idea I did a rescan of Running processes (memory) and start other modules of Nero, and the same thing happened BitDefender detected a new application (even if old) and I clicked "allow" for each. Nero Now loads and exits properly since the addition to the list in BitDefender. (no more staying in the Task manager). It seems that BitDefender 2009 is not detecting applications properly in realtime and as such is causing little problems at times with that application. By starting an application while doing a process )memory scan it seems to force BitDefender to realise that there is an unknown application running. Nero Is now running smoothly and slightly faster. The problem could be happing to other programs. I have since writing this used this technique to get BD 2009 to realise there is a so called new application loaded. So I have found a way around my problem, By accident. Thanks |

When trying to burn my DVDs, the whole process is much slower with BitDefender running then when it's not. It also has a higher fail rate when trying to write to the disc when BitDefender is running.
